All Day home Educators have a list of requirements they must meet before becoming licensed. 

These requirements make sure the educator is physically and mentally able to take care of children and provide them a safe environment. The list of requirements includes 

· A criminal record and vulnerable sector check for the educator AND anyone over the age of 18 in the household The criminal record and vulnerable sector check must be updated every 3 years.

· Valid first aid certificate that is updated every 3 years

· Medical clearance from a licensed physician

· Three references from non-relatives that corroborate the applicant’s suitability for working with children. 

· Documentation that the family day home program educator has at least obtained Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certification

· Mandatory two in person visits with the educator and all residence of the household

· Minimum $2 000 000 general liability insurance

Early Learners of AB Ltd.  is  required to monitor all family day home program educators under our agency at least 6 times per year with both scheduled and unscheduled visits.

Our consultants use a standard Government of Alberta Checklist  to ensure adherence to the family day home standards.

All complaints and concerns can be submitted to Early Learners of Ab. We will try our best to rectify all complaints in a timely manner ensuring the child's best interest .
